Lysol had the wild (and oddly perfect) opportunity to show up at Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival to launch their new Air Sanitizer—a category innovation that doesn’t just freshen the air, but actively kills airborne bacteria. We transformed karaoke into a real-time data visualization of airborne particles, creating a playful yet educational experience that brought the science of air sanitization to life. Enter the Lysol Air-aoke Bar: a fully immersive, data-reactive space where festivalgoers could sing their hearts out while literally seeing the particles they projected into the air. Using inputs like singing volume, words-per-minute, and participation metrics, the room filled with dynamic visuals that responded to each performance in real time—making the invisible visible in a fun, surprising way.
Housed inside a full-scale, walk-in pop-up bar built on festival grounds, the experience invited guests to step off the lawn and into a brand world where science met entertainment. The experience offered users a moment of reprieve from the crowds, creating an intimate space of fun and discovery—blending interactivity, science, and branded content served up to their favorite artist’s songs from the event. Discrete cameras captured each session and served up custom, shareable media with Lysol naturally baked into the background, as well as UGC that punters recorded themselves while inside the experience. The installation became a standout within the broader campaign ecosystem, driving major buzz and engagement on-site and online. Most importantly, it played a central role in Lysol’s most successful product launch to date. Not bad for a pop-up about airborne bacteria.
